==== Fuller a24 Rack Cabinet 2 ==== * To the left is [[fla24_cabinet1]]. * To the right is [[fla24_cabinet3]]. * This Cabinet has no dedicated networking; machines placed here must connect to the [[netops-infra-fla24|NetOps switches]] in Cabinets 1 and 3. * This cabinet is served by the power strips [[machine_room_pdu#rack_cabinet_2|cspower4 and cspower1]]. Cabinet 2 contains for the most part Assistment and research machines. Anothre notable machine is CSMAIL, which receives the department's "@cs.wpi.edu" email and runs the departments IMAP mail server. All the networking in Cabinet 2 comes from cables strung through the back of the cabinet and into Cabinet 3, which contains an expensive switch on loan from Network Operations. We are trying to get more switches so that each cabinet will have its own switch. This is still in negotiations as of 25 September 2011. Console Access to the machines in cabinet 2 is via the AdderView unit [[machine_room_remote_kvm#adder1|adder1.cs.wpi.edu]], which is accessible via WWW and VNC. Power Access is via a pair of APC PDU units, cspower1.cs.wpi.edu and cspower4.cs.wpi.edu Which machines are plugged in where is listed immediately below on this page. The procedure for power-cycling a machine attached to a PDU is given [[machine_room_pdu#procedure_to_remote-reboot_a_machine.|here.]] RACK2-42 \__ Corning cableware fiber blackbox RACK2-41 / RACK2-40 RESERVED Network expansion/swapout space ======================== RACK2-39 Hydra KVM switch adder1 (MOVE TO RACK 1?) The former APCRBC117's were apparently installed on 25 September 2018, so it seems unlikely that they are dead. They should be kept and not recycled. --mcv 20210524. Batteries for the 1-battery X3000 units are part number APCRBC117. Each X3000 has a 2-battery add-on unit, which takes two APCRBC118s, which have a power connector at the REAR of the battery, and not at the front. To entirely replace all the batteries in ONE of the two UPS units serving this cabinet, you will need to purchase one RBC117 and two RBC118s.
