These give you console access on a machine without sitting in front of the machine.
You can issue a Ctrl-alt-delete on console from here, so be careful.

You cannot do powercycling from here. Sure, you can try to crtl-alt-delete on a machine, which may reboot it, but sometimes a machine is too locked up and far-gone for that to work. To do actual power cycling of a machine, you'll need to login to a power strip (AKA a “PDU” or “power distribution unit” cspower[1234].cs.wpi.edu) to do that.

There are two VNC servers in the CS Machine room: hydra.cs.wpi.edu and adder2.cs.wpi.edu. A list of machines reachable from these two units is provided below.
For encryption, leave the default, which is “let the server decide.”
You should already have a username and password. If not, email system@cs, and an account can be generated for you.
